Jocie's first autumn

Hola familia!

Jocie is 5.5 months along and has been such an incredible little girl. She loves being pushed in her umbrella stroller while doing baby-friendly wheelies and talking in the morning. So far no words just yet. She likes to walk when supported but crawling isn't her favorite.

Here are a few photos at 5 months:

How is the family doing?

Jocelyn turns 4 months, Pittsburgh and surviving the honeymoon

Hello!

We are back! We haven't loaded the pictures from Mexico but we will do so soon. Jocelyn turned 4 months on August 18th right after we got back. As we meet more babies, we quickly realize Jocelyn is her own little girl. She is typically the smallest 4.5 month of old girl most have ever seen, but she is pretty funny with her facial expressions and her need to always stand and face the world. She is quite active and loves to put everything in her mouth at this point. No teeth just yet.

Here she is riding dad's shoulders:

We call that face the ducky face.

We also took a trip to the western part of PA in Pittsburgh. It was really nice, and Jocelyn had a 5 hour walk through the city and river walks.

Auntie Molly visits!

Hello!!

Molly came and visited us this week. She is now officially a baby whisperer and knows all there is to know about little J.

One to touch and she was out!

Jocelyn is almost 4 months old. Oh how time flies. She can now hold objects and fling them around. She is so alert, and still loves eating her hands. She weighs more than 13 lbs!

We are now heading to Levittown PA where we will stay for 5 days. Then on Wednesday we are heading to MEXICO!!!! Hooray honeymoon ! Here is Molly in our over stuffed car:)

Ciao for now!

McKeown's get fuzzy!

Hello!

Today we got in touch with our Ecuadorian and central PA farm roots by visiting our local alpaca farm. It was so hot today but well worth the trip!

We learned that you always need to have alpacas in pairs, in case any of you were planning to try your luck as alpacas breeders. Alpacas are in the camel family, but they don't have the "water tank" like the African camel so they have to have cool shade. Most of them hung out in front of the fans :) In case you're wondering what inspired this random trip, knitting/yarn/crocheting did. Alpaca fur makes the best warm goodies, so if you're dying for some find the yarn and I will try to make it!

Lovely plush ladies:

Check out that hair cut!

After we drank about 10 glasses of water. Check out our artwork.
What a charmer.

Arts fest weekend!

So we went to a festival for arts and music, but realized all the pretty things for sale are for people with real jobs! :)

This month marks Ryan and I's one year "dating" anniversary. The real anniversary is for the wedding, but we thought we'd be nostalgic.

Little J turns 3 months on Monday! Here is a recent picture:

Here is the latest card from the cricut!

One more of Joce with Daddy! We tried out our local cracker barrel and got some free coffee in the process. We met a lady that we think has a southern accent only while working. Everyone loved Jocelyn. She loved the attention but was soon distracted by her hands.

Adventures of cricut

Hello! A lot has happened in the last few weeks. We went on a hike at Mt. Knittany and did the whole thing! Close to 6 miles. Jocelyn and Butters were such troopers.

Jocelyn facts:
1. I am 11 weeks and 2 days old (as of July 6, 2011)
2. I weigh 10 lbs.
3. I'm really good and eating my fingers.
4. I now sleep in my own room.
5. I have a silky long mane that is reminiscent of the 80's.

Recently I got a paper cutting machine called the "cricut". Note the wood glue! I have a glue stick now. Meet the life jaws:

Ryan even made his mom one! Some successful cards:

Fourth of July was great. We went to Levittown and saw lots of friends and family. Here is Jocelyn in her outfit:

We went on a walk to catch some fireflies and fireworks:

Now we are home! Happy birthday to Grammy Cheryl!

More soon.

Inspired by Julia Child ....

I now vow to become a regular blogger, as inspired by the movie Julie-Julia. I'm a decent cook, but a horrible baker! So maybe I'll work on that  :)

Here are some links to the facebook random photos of miss Jocelyn in case you don't use FB.

Jocelyn is 2 months old in 2 days. She now smiles and makes the cutest coo-ing noises. She holds her head up and has this adorable way of looking like a bobble head.

Her and butters are great friends. He says hello with his customary snort and sneeze.

There are a few things we have concluded are ESSENTIAL with a baby from 0 - 60 days old:
1. Swaddlers
2. White noise maker/Sleepy Sheep
3. Baby 411 book
4. Plenty of your favorite beverage: mine is cabernet wine.
5. A hobby that gives you the excuse for one hour far far away from the crying

** recommended goodies: the 'breast-friend' baby pillow, binkies/pacifiers, the ability to shamelessly sing and dance for baby

Project #1: I have also embarked on my "fear factor" project to sew. I will sew something!!!
I am making a purse: http://www.simplicity.com/p-5265-bags.aspx   (right hand bag)

Project #2: Knitting birdies... I figured out that the pattern wasn't the best because my birds look like whales... what do you think?

Most Recent Project: Finished!
It is a cabled beret... in lieu of Julia Child and France.

More projects coming soon....
