Hanging at home

Coming down from our awesome trip to Chicago, we decided to take advantage of spring in our area. We miss our cousins, Auntie and Uncle a lot. Till next time! Here is a recap of the first 2 weeks of April after Chicago.

Here are our tulips first thing in April. Over the last couple of weeks since this was taken, they have bloomed SO much. Some are red, white, pink and yellow. Thanks Gramps for planting these for us. It's been a little dream of mine to have a house with tulips.

Our little big Ariel went to the vet for licking something mysterious. She doesn't seemed to be phased! She is growing lots as well, loves the girls and is becoming a more calm family dog. But heads up when you come through the door! We are still working on a calm hello.

Adelina is learning to sit up better, smiles a lot, babbles, makes bubbles, and is beginning to nurse without special pillows. That is a major one for momma! She is also slowly approaching a 3 nap day, hallelujah! And she typically wakes up 1-2 times in the night. Not bad! She is pretty much out of her 0-3 clothes and is beginning to sport her 3-6 months with room to grow. Here she is post eating doing a Mario Bros 1up jump!

Here is our J bird! What is she doing you ask? Markering cotton balls and making truffela trees from the Lorax. We are big Lorax fans!! She can recite by memory certain pages and when Ryan reads it aloud she can say the words right along with him. It's pretty amazing!! We like to do art installations so she ended up painting a Lorax, the swimming swan, the humming fish, the brown barbeloots bears and lots of truffela trees. She is not a fan of the once-ler!

Jocelyn is also very much into watching and talking about all the birds that come to our front bushes. We got a bird feeder to attract more. So far we have lots of cardinals, finches and orioles. The cardinals are her favorite I think.

On April 11 we went to see the cherry blossom festival. It was Adelina's first time and J's second. We had a really nice time, and the weather was gorgeous. These blossoms remind me of the apple blossoms I used to see as a little girl on the University of Washington campus.

Adelina's first bucket hat!!

I just love how much fun J has, and Ryan is the coolest dad on the planet.

The parade ended around the national archives. We saw a marching band and some young ladies in fancy dresses. Jocelyn loved them, especially the one that looked like Cinderella. Ask her about it she will tell you!

Both my girls are good at the scowl. It's how they show their love.

I snapped this one really fast as we were walking amongst the millions of people. Hence the slightly "leaning tower" effect :)

The blossoms came a bit early this year so by the time we saw them they had passed their pink stage and were in full white. Still, very, very beautiful.

Squeezing in for a selfie! I like how Ryan can hold Lina like a wee football.

And off in the distance is the Jefferson memorial. The crowds grow larger around the tidal pool area it seems since the pathways are so narrow, so we usually only get this far. I also forgot my harness to hold Lina but hey check it out!! Hoodie works just as well...for now 😉

The following week we spent time cleaning the inside and outside. J gardened for us :) thanks Auntie Alli for our awesome garden set!

And we lounged with the pups. Can you spot butters above?

And this month school has been a blast. Below is our "sports" attire. J chose her swimming suit. They have also been learning about spring weather, spring animals, & stages of the butterfly to name a few. Don't you wish you had this awesome selection of clothes to sport? Ah to be a kid!

More to come on a visit from Grandma, the McKeowns of PA, and celebrating J's big 4!
